It’s official. On March 24th we will be hosting an evening of internet media and memefun @ 3rd Ward. Below is the copy for the event:

What We Know So Far presents:

Memefactory
aka: ROFL Mill
aka: LOLFest
aka: LuLzapalooza

Three gentlemen with five computers and three projectors take the audience on a fast-paced and whirlwind tour of every major internet meme, famous piece of internet media and upwards of three hours of youTube footage over the course of one and one half of one hour. The modus is not depth, but breadth, and constant audience participation. The goal of the evening is to produce an audience generated entry of every internet phenomenon as possible, including but not limited to: LOLCats, Bouncing GIFs, Me Singing [blank], Reaction Videos, Folk Covers of Hip Hop Classics, FAILs, Redubbed music videos, and more. You can think of it as somewhere between a lecture, vaudeville and Double Dare.

Disclaimer: You should expect to see some “adult content”. But nothing horrific.

tl;dr version: We’re gonna cram everything 4chan has made in the last 4 years into 1.5 hrs with 3 projections. We’re gonna put willing audience members in front of cameras and microphones, and then on the internets in the hopes they will become famous like Boxxy. There will be beers. There might be nudity.

More details on this later, but it looks like Patrick, Jo and I are confirmed for February 24th at 3rd Ward. We’re going to be hosting an evening of discussion related to internet media. We’ll talk about audience favorites, the connections between different well know memes, and generally have a good time. Once the details are firmed up, no doubt we’ll post them here.
